December 1, 2013: also known as the day I got back from Dubai. I have about a hundred stories of interesting experiences from the Middle East, but I think I’d like to start off this new blog by living in the Now. After all, there’s nothing more beautiful or more real or more tangible than who you are and where you are right at this moment.
See, I love words. I think if we treated people the way we treated words the world would be a much better place. You don’t judge a word by how it’s spelled or how the letters are formed. No, people always see words for what they mean. It’s the whole “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” thing. The word ‘beautiful’ is only beautiful because of what it carries, and no two people have the same definition of it. It holds a different myriad of things for every single person that’s ever lived. Yes, I know… words are loaded things.
People need to learn how to treat the word ‘now’ with more respect and more care and more caution than probably any other word that exists. Because Now is beautiful. Now is filled with an infinite amount of chances. And like all beautiful things, Now is forever fleeting and always on the verge of ending. Now is everything. Now will never come again.
